Deliveroo share allocation: what you need to know

Deliveroo is allocating £50 million worth of shares to its customers through a community offering. As part of the offering, existing Deliveroo users can choose to apply for allocations of Deliveroo stock worth £250, £500, £750 or £1000.

The deadline to register for a stock allocation is 11.59pm (UK time) on 30 March 2021 and successful applicants will be informed of their allocations on 31 March 2021. If demand is particularly high, you may receive a lower allocation than you had initially requested.

Deliveroo has partnered with PrimaryBid for this community offering, and IG has a partnership with PrimaryBid. This means that you can choose us as your broker for the Deliveroo share allocation, and your Deliveroo shares will be transferred directly into your IG share dealing account – completely commission free.

To choose us as your broker for the Deliveroo offering, you’ll need to put in your IG account number when you register to receive a Deliveroo stock allocation.

What if I miss the Deliveroo share allocation?

If you miss the share allocation, you can trade or invest in Deliveroo shares from 8.00am (UK time) on the day the company lists – which is expected to be 31 March 2021. This will be when the secondary market opens and shares can be freely bought or sold between market participants, so you won’t need to have received an allocation through PrimaryBid to take your position.

With us, you’ll be able to invest in Deliveroo shares from £3 commission on the secondary market. Here’s how our share dealing commissions match up to some of our competitors:

Best commission rate on UK shares £3 £5.95 £4.95
Standard commission rate on UK shares £8 £11.95 £9.95

If you’d rather trade Deliveroo shares, we offer CFDs. These are leveraged derivatives, meaning that you can open a position for an initial deposit – known as margin. But, while leverage can increase your profits, it can also increase your losses – so it’s important to take steps to manage your risk before you decide to trade.

As opposed to share dealing, trading with CFDs enables you to take a ‘buy’ position to speculate on the Deliveroo share price rising, as well as a ‘sell’ position to speculate on the Deliveroo share price falling.

If you don’t nominate a broker when you subscribe to the community offering, your shares will be held by Equiniti as the default corporate sponsored nominee (CNS). You can transfer them from Equiniti to a broker of your choice completely free of charge until 7 May 2021.

After this point, you’ll need to pay £5 to transfer the shares to a different broker – we won’t charge you anything to transfer your shares to us.

Here’s how to make IG your nominated broker for the Deliveroo offering:

  1. Create an IG share dealing account
  2. Find out how to register to the Deliveroo stock offering
