IG Trading platform: Navigate to the ‘positions’ tab, or the ‘positions’ window if already open, and hover over the row you are looking to edit. Fill in the stop or limit field and hit enter, or click elsewhere on the dealing platform. An accepted edit will confirm in green.
Old platform: To edit stops and limits navigate to the ‘positions’ window and click on the deal you are looking to edit. Use the ‘edit’ tab at the top of the deal ticket and make your amendments. Clicking the green ‘submit’ button at the bottom of the deal ticket will confirm the changes.
All markets have minimum stop distances which are variable basis the asset type, perceived volatility, and time of day. This minimum distance is quoted on every deal ticket.
Guaranteed stops will have a different minimum distance which is also variable.
