Why do I need a guaranteed stop on every position?

You may be on a limited-risk account.

When you opened your account with IG, you answered a number of questions about your trading experience and personal financial circumstances.

Based on your answers to these questions, we may have placed you on a limited-risk account. This account type helps to protect you from taking on too much risk, by requiring that a guaranteed stop be added to each position before it can open.
