How do I open a demo spread betting or CFD account?

Demo accounts allow you to practise trading risk-free. If you’re new to IG and would like to develop your trading skills and familiarise yourself with our trading platform, you can click here to open a demo account. You’ll receive a pre-set balance of £10,000 in virtual funds to start practising and try out your trading strategies.

When opening a live account with us, you can access a demo account from your My IG dashboard on your desktop or the ‘accounts’ section of the mobile app. If you’re having difficulty finding your demo account, you can add a new demo account by clicking on ‘add an account’ and following the on-screen prompts.

If you’re interested in practising with more advanced software, you can sign up for an MT4 demo account.
