What type of products will my IG Smart Portfolio be invested in?
IG Smart Portfolios are built using iShares ETFs from BlackRock, the world's leading asset manager. ETFs are exchange traded funds — a form of passive investment that seeks to track the performance of an index or other assets. Find out more about this on our ETFs page.
Asset allocations for ETFs differ for each portfolio, with less risky portfolios having higher levels of fixed income and more risky portfolios having higher levels of equity.
IG will present you with a portfolio that we believe is suitable to you based on your answers to the risk questionnaire. You can switch to any lower-risk portfolio, but are only able to move up one level to the next portfolio.
You’ll get an estimate of how much an IG Smart Portfolio could cost, as well as the estimated future value of your portfolio based on your chosen timeframe, risk level and investment amount. Once you’ve created a live account, you’ll get an exact break down of asset allocations and have access to your transaction history as illustrated below:
