Trading hours over the Thanksgiving and Black Friday period
There’ll be a few changes to our opening hours over Thanksgiving and Black Friday. All times are in GMT unless specified otherwise:
Thanksgiving - Thursday 28 November (GMT)
- US equity markets are closed.
- US index futures close early at 6pm. We’ll offer out-of-hours prices on Wall Street, US 500, US Tech 100 and US Russell 2000 until index futures reopen at 11pm.
- The Volatility Index (VIX) closes early at 4.30pm and reopens at 11pm.
- Brent Crude, London Gas Oil and UK Nat Gas will close early at 6.30pm.
- US rates close at 6pm.
- US metals and energies will close early at 7.30pm.
- US soft commodities are closed.
- London Sugar closes early at 5pm.
- Lumber and Livestock are closed.
Black Friday - Friday 29 November (GMT)
- US equity markets close early at 6pm, and there’ll be no post-market trading.
- US index futures close early at 6.15pm. We’ll offer out-of- hours prices on Wall Street, US 500, US Tech 100 and US Russell 2000 until 9pm.
- The Volatility Index (VIX) closes early at 6.15pm.
- Brent Crude, London Gas Oil and UK Nat Gas will close at 8pm.
- US rates and the US Dollar Index close at 6.15pm.
- US metals and energies will close early at 7.45pm.
- New York Cotton opens late at 1pm. New York Cotton and Orange Juice close early at 6.30pm.
- Normal trading hours on New York Sugar, New York Coffee and New York Cocoa.
- US grain futures open late at 2.30pm and close early at 6.05pm.
- Lumber trades from 3pm to 6.05pm, and Livestock trades from 2.30pm to 6.05pm.
- The futures desk and all 24-hour indices close at 9pm, and FX closes at 10pm.
