How do I deposit funds into my account?

To deposit funds, log in to My IG, and click ‘add funds’ next to the account you’d like to deposit into.

You can deposit funds with a credit card, debit card, HK FPS or via bank transfer.

Card

The quickest way to fund your account is by credit or debit card, as successful payments are deposited immediately.

Before funding you'll need to register your chosen card. You may have up to five cards listed on your account at a time, but each must be in your name and registered to the address you use for your IG account.

FPS Hong Kong Dollars (HKD)

You can make deposits via FPS to us in Hong Kong dollars, at no cost. This'll typically take one business day to clear. Note, HKD FPS is only available for Hong Kong bank accounts.

Simply use the following proxy ID to make the transfer into our account.

Bank transfer

You can find our relevant details by selecting ‘click here’ on the ‘deposit funds’ page in My IG.

Bank transfers can take up to three days, depending on your bank. You can upload a proof of payment if you’d like to trade with the funds straight away.

We can't accept cash, cheques, ATM and teller payments, commercial credit cards, business credit cards or prepaid cards (eg Hong Kong Tap & Go).

International bank wire transfers may incur fees charged by your bank. Please check with your bank for more information.

Funding on mobile app

Open the IG app and log in. Ensure that you've selected the account you wish to deposit into and then click ‘more’ for iPhone users, in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen; for Android users, it's in the top right-hand corner of your screen. Then select ‘add funds’ from the menu and choose how you want to make your deposit.

Funding with Wise (formerly TransferWise)

In addition to the traditional payment methods above, you may have opened an account with Wise as a method to transfer funds to your IG account. Please note that we aren’t associated with Wise and we advise you to check any associated costs before using its services.

Should you transfer funds to us from a Wise account, we may need to see evidence of the transfer receipt and your Wise statement. You might also be required to provide our address during the payment process. If so, here it is:
