Top 5 Singapore Exchange (SGX) stocks of the week
Here are the best performing STI Index constituents for the week ending 19 June 2020, based on IG data.
Asia’s stock markets remained in kangaroo mode this week, as concerns surrounding a second wave of Covid-19 infections – largely thanks to new clusters detected in China and the US – continued to mar investor sentiments.
As IG Asia market strategist Pan Jingyi noted in a weekly market preview, the lack of any new catalyst had resulted in ‘markets trading in a muted manner into the end of the week here in Asia’.
Singapore’s blue-chip stock benchmark Straits Times Index (STI Index) closed the week at 2647 points – flat from the week’s opening mark, based on IG trading data.
More than two-thirds of the 30 stocks tracked by the STI Index saw their share prices decline this week. Meanwhile the average increase of the top five gainers this week stood at +2.9% - lower than recent weeks.
Here are the Singapore Exchange’s (SGX) top-performing equities for the week ending 19 June 2020.
