How do I open a General Investment Account (GIA) in-app?

To open a GIA in-app, you must have completed creating your profile. This is a short process and involves providing your legal name and creating your login credentials. You’ll also be prompted to set either a PIN code or enable biometrics in the form of Face or Touch ID for a smoother login experience.

Having done so, you'll land in the ‘Home’ screen where you’ll be presented with the option to ‘Open an account’. Clicking in this box will land you in another screen where you’ll be given the option to open a GIA. You’ll also note that there’s an option to open an ISA, however this will remain greyed out until you open a GIA, as you must have an open GIA to open an ISA.

You’ll be asked to provide some comprehensive personal details; from date of birth, residential address, national insurance number (NINO), tax residency and employment information before being presented with terms and conditions. We run onboarding checks based on the answers you provide, so please ensure that these are correct. Following these checks completing, your GIA will then be opened in-app.
