With your IG share trading account, you can buy global shares, which we then hold safely for you in our nominee account. And, since we administer the account in which your shares are held, we act as nominee shareholder and can vote on your behalf at formal company meetings like AGMs.
You’ll receive a notification email for specific proxy voting events from global@proxyvote.com containing a control number, as shown below:
If you click on the ‘vote now’ button, you’ll be redirected to ProxyVote. Once there, you’ll be able to enter your control number, after which you’ll see all the available options related to the event.
To cast your vote, select your preferred option(s) and click on ‘submit vote’. Your vote will then be recorded.
