Trade these markets with IG
We offer two ways to trade these markets. Contracts for difference (CFDs) are over-the-counter (OTC) derivative products that give you access to thousands of underlying markets. These are typically traded in the short or medium term.
We also offer pure-form US options and futures on a range of underlying markets through our partnership with our friends at tastytrade. You can access these products on an award-winning platform, straight from the My IG dashboard. Listed options and futures are usually traded over the medium term.
CFDs
Trade contracts over the counter: direct trade between two parties (usually through a broker like us).

- Go long or short on a market's direction
- Positions are adjusted to offset changes from dividends
- Trade around the clock, even on weekends, on a number of our markets
Exchange-traded (listed) products
Trade on exchange: centralised marketplace for buyers and sellers
- Go long, short or non-directional
- Low commissions; no commission to close options positions3
- Choose a cash account (without leverage) or a margin account (using leverage)
- Typically higher liquidity, as there’s a higher number of market participants
