World eager for US, Chinese trade updates
With Angela Barnes, IG financial analyst
Watch out for trade updates from two of the world’s biggest economies and more earnings reports. Brace for the latest trade balance for July from China. Chinese stock markets rebounded sharply in July amid the government’s pledge to boost its economy. Tuesday’s update will provide more insight on growth momentum in the country.
US trade balance on the way
The US will also release its trade balance for June. In May, the country’s trade deficit shrank as the value of imported merchandise declined to the lowest level since October 2021. The consensus is for the trade deficit to be $65.7 billion for June from $69 billion the previous month. There will also be earnings updates from Abrdn, Glencore , Sixt , Bayer, Lyft and Eli Lilly.
