Despite growing interest, emerging market (EM) economies had a tough time of it in 2018, caused by the growing US-China trade tensions, rising inflation and low commodity prices. The MSCI Emerging Market Index declined by 26% between January and November 2018.
Going into 2019, many of the macroeconomic influences are still in play, but there is optimism that EMs might recover. We’ll be taking a look at the emerging markets outlook for 2019 and talking about potential trends that traders should watch out for.
