The more the referrals, the more the rewards
IG clients, including share dealing account holders, can invite friends through our refer-a-friend programme. For a limited time, you’ll get up to £250 when five friends open a share dealing account.1
Already got rewarded? No problem you can still earn more, as long as you haven’t reached the maximum of five referrals. This means that even if you’ve already received three rewards, for example, you still qualify for two more bonuses under this promotion.1

Get familiar with the requirements
For you to qualify for rewards:
- You must have an account with us
- Your friends need to use your unique referral link to apply for a share dealing account with us
- Each referral must place a deal within three months of opening their account (once their application has been approved, they’ll have to complete a few actions before you can receive your reward)

Log in to My IG and click on the refer-a-friend banner (or go to the ‘settings’ section and select ‘refer a friend’)

Refer-a-friend promotion FAQ
Can I participate in the promotion if I’ve already been rewarded?
Yes, you can continue to refer new friends under this promotion. However, there’s a total of £250 cap on rewards. For instance, if two of your referrals have been successful, you’ll only be eligible for three more rewards, since one reward for a successful referral is £50.1
Can I refer someone I live with?
No, your referrals must live in a different address to yours.
How do I check my referral status?
Once your friend has signed up for a share dealing account using your unique link, you’ll receive an email telling you that you’re in the referral programme.
After this, you can log in to My IG and go to the ‘settings’ section to check the status of your referral. On the desktop platform, you’ll find this at the top of your screen. If you’re using the mobile app, click on ‘account’ at the bottom right-hand side of your screen and scroll down to find your settings.
From there, select ‘refer a friend’ to view your referral status. You’ll also get an email once your friend has successfully opened a share dealing account using your link, as well as when you’ve qualified for a reward.
Can a referral expire?
Yes, once your friend opens a share dealing account, they’ll have three months to use it to make their first investment. If they don’t buy an asset using their account in this timeframe, the referral expires.
