Key investor information document (KIID) definition

The Key Investor Information Document (KIID) is a document that provides key information about investment funds, in order to help a potential investor compare different investment funds and assess which fund meets their specific needs.

KIIDs will outline a number of important information about a fund, including the fund’s:

  • Investment objective
  • Risk and reward profile
  • Associated charges
  • Historical performance
  • Other information such as a fund manager’s authorisation status

All UK and EU funds authorised under Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities Directive (UCITS) are obliged to produce KIIDs.
