Boeing, Microsoft and Alphabet earnings due

In this video, host Jeremy Naylor talks about what's happening in the stock market and how recent earnings reports are expected to affect certain companies, including Boeing, Microsoft and Alphabet. He provides an idea of what we can expect from these stocks.

Boeing is likely to see a decrease in its stock price because they had a bigger loss than expected in the third quarter. On the other hand, Microsoft is expected to see their stock rise because their earnings were better than expected.

S&P 500 looks set for stability

There's also some information about the overall stock market. The S&P 500 is predicted to stay pretty stable, but the Dow Jones and NASDAQ 100 could go down even further. It's important to keep an eye on those trends if you're thinking about trading.

In terms of corporate earnings, Boeing had a tough quarter, with more losses and fewer aircraft deliveries than they were anticipating. But Microsoft had a really good first quarter, especially because their Azure public cloud business did really well. Alphabet, unfortunately, didn't meet expectations for their cloud revenues, so their stock is expected to go down.

Snap initially saw a big increase in their stock price because they did really well with its earnings and revenue, but then the stock went down a bit because some advertisers stopped spending money during the Israeli-Gaza conflict.

How will the CAD fare with BoC decision?

There's also some talk about the Bank of Canada (BoC) and how its interest-rate decision might affect the Canadian dollar. And they have a guest who talks about the US economy and how it's doing better than expected. They point out things like government spending and a strong labor market as reasons for this resilience.

Finally, they give a preview of upcoming earnings reports from Meta Platforms (formerly Facebook) and IBM. They mention that IBM is expected to see increased revenues in their software segment.
