Beat the street: US markets open 2024 on the way down
It looks likely that Wall Street will open its account for 2024 on the way down. We look at the gains that have been seen with the 54% climb on the Nasdaq 100, the best annual performance since 1999.

Bitcoin soars to a 21-month high
Welcome to beat the street, as we count down you to today's Wall Street session and the first of 2024 as we await the start of today's session. We have some interesting stocks to follow and we have a big performance from 2023 to continue on with, or will we not see a rise?
Let's take a look at the headlines as we await the start. We are in fact looking for a slightly weaker start to the trading day as we see things tick lower on th 24-hour markets on the IG platform, indicating a weaker start when things get under way in one hour's time.
There is no breaking news to follow but nonetheless, there are some stock stories to follow, including crypto. We are watching a rise in Coinbase today, all-sessions on the IG platform, after Bitcoin hit a 21-month high overnight.
