Oktoberfest: rhe rise of non-alcoholic beer

During the popular beer festival known as Oktoberfest, people drink a massive amount of beer, with around 7-million liters being consumed, which is like more than 130,000 barrels of beer.

But now, big beer companies like AB InBev and Heineken are shifting their attention to non-alcoholic beers to regain their position in the market. These non-alcoholic beers may taste and smell a bit different, but the top breweries are confident in their potential.

AB InBev believes that the future of non-alcoholic beer looks promising, while Heineken predicts that by 2024, these beverages could make up 5% of the global beer market, compared to the current 2%. Right now, non-alcoholic beer only makes up 1% of beer sales worldwide, but it's expected to grow rapidly.

According to Global Market Insights, the global market for non-alcoholic beer could reach an incredible $29 billion by 2026. That's a massive 65% increase from 2019! This means that drinking a glass of non-alcoholic beer might become more common, like the new normal, rather than just a unique experience. For example, imagine you're at a party and someone hands you a non-alcoholic beer. Instead of feeling left out because you're not drinking alcohol, you can join in the fun and enjoy a tasty beer-like drink without the alcohol content.

Craft breweries join the trend

And it's not just the big beer companies that are getting in on the action. Many craft breweries are also coming up with their own non-alcoholic beer options, offering different flavours and styles to cater to various tastes.

So, even if you're not a big fan of traditional alcoholic beers or you're looking for an alternative, non-alcoholic beers have a bright future ahead. They might not be everyone's cup of tea, so to speak, but they're gaining popularity and could become a significant part of the global beer market in the coming years.

So, maybe in the near future, we'll see more people raising their glasses filled with non-alcoholic frothy goodness instead of the boozy stuff.
