US earnings preview: will Walmart top estimates again?
The US retail sector is in focus this week with Home Depot, Walmart, and Target leading the earnings calendar.
Investors will be looking to see if some of the cracks that appeared in the retail sector three months ago have widened.
Target releases its quarterly earnings on Wednesday. Its revenue is expected to be in the region of $25 billion and earnings per share to be $1.47.
Walmart’s second quarter (Q2) results will follow on Thursday with the retailer expected to report earnings per share of $1.69 and revenue of around $159 billion. The US retail giant topped estimates in the last two quarters, but will it do it again?

US retail earnings in focus
Well, the US retail sector is in focus this week with Walmart, Home Depot, and Target leading the earnings calendar.
So it comes off the back of July's retail sales report and also ahead of the minutes from the Federal Reserve's July meeting on Wednesday afternoon.
